SciLifeLab talk: Reinventing Bioinformatics

A recording of the SciLifeLab webinar, Reinventing Bioinformatics: AI-mediated refactoring at scale, is now available. The talk was held on October 27 as part of the SciLifeLab Data Centre’s Tools for AI/ML research in life sciences series.

The talk explores how agentic AI can help improve academic research software, with examples from microscopy, image analysis and bioinformatics. Topics include building software around researchers’ needs, opening proprietary file formats, reducing dependency and packaging problems, and making code faster and safer.
